CES 2019 is a wrap! It was an eventful four days of meetings filled with energy and enthusiasm as we unveiled our new products and customers saw our innovative technology. Our meetings were with key target customers and partners and highlighted our interactive display engine and our MEMS based consumer 3D LiDAR engine. We showed them real-world application demos enabled by our technology that adds interactive display and sensing capabilities to AI connected devices. Let’s look at what we demonstrated during CES 2019.
Interactive Display Engine
For IoT products, MicroVision’s interactive display engine demonstration experiences showed how we provide an integrated solution for projected display and interactivity in a single module, including hardware, software, and machine learning at the edge. We showed how this technology enables customers to create more natural user experiences for AI smart speakers with use case demonstrations that added sight, touch, swipe, and mid-air gestures to existing voice interactions through media carousels, music, smart home, shopping, and game experiences.
MEMS Based Consumer 3D LiDAR
For our Consumer LiDAR product family, we showcased our Explorer Edition with its compact space saving design, providing 15.5 Mpts/sec depth data throughput with low latency at ranges up to 10m. MicroVision’s MEMS based 3D LiDAR had two demonstration experiences, depth visualizer with machine learning and smart home automation. The depth visualizer experience displayed an “under the hood” demonstration with live streaming of sensor data and machine learning for people detection and tracking. The smart home experience displayed automatic management of smart lighting through the recognition of people and their position within a room by coupling our sensor with machine learning at the edge.
