As promised, here’s the follow up to my last posting: What Customers Think of the ROV Barcode Scanner. From the ROV Scanner Satisfaction Survey, we contacted numerous customers that told us they were willing to share their applications and experiences with the ROV Scanner. Here’s a summary of a few of the customers (also, each of the summaries link to the full Case Study on www.microvision.com).
American Pest Management – Tokoma Park, MD
American Pest Management employees use Sprint Windows Mobile devices, Pestpac Software and the ROV Scanner to scan assets in the field, creating a more reliable, affordable asset tracking solution.
“It’s got everything we need—it works with our Windows Mobile phones, our Sprint Internet package, and our PestPac software,” says Mark Miller, Technology Manager with American Pest Management.
Robertson Adult Day Healthcare – Sacramento, CA
Robertson Adult Day Healthcare employees scan patient name badges with the ROV Scanner to check them in and out, log blood suger tests and more.
“It makes my life a lot easier, because now we don’t have to enter data manually or generate reports manually. In the past, every time an auditor questioned an attendance figure, I had to dig through the paperwork and manually enter the data. It’s probably freed up an hour a day of my own time; it gives our staff more time to spend with participants; and it has really improved the accuracy of our record keeping” says Vernon Moore, IT Manager at Robertson Adult Day Health Care
National Association of Community Healthcare Centers – Bethesda, MD
National Associate Of Community Health Centers Conference staff members scan attendee’s badges as they enter various sessions to accurately track their attendance and award them with continuing education credits.
“We typically hire retirees to do our scanning, and we didn’t want to invest in a lot of training,” says Gump. “But the ROV Scanners are so easy to use that no training at all is required. We just tell them, ‘Press the button, and if you hear a beep, it worked. If you don’t, scan the badge again.’ But it almost always works on the first try.”
