One of the most rewarding parts of my job is to see the reaction that people have to our technology when they see it for the first time. I was able to experience this on a recent business trip to Europe to discuss and demonstrate Microvision technologies, including head-up display and PicoP. The meetings were very productive and the excitement that the demonstrations of our technology generated was palpable! People who experience Microvision’s technology are overwhelmingly awed by the features that make us unique – the size of the display engine, infinite focus, the depth of our color palette, the brightness of the images we paint and our tremendous contrast.
I aspired to impress technology innovators in France and Italy with Microvision’s wares – not an insignificant task given that I spent a good deal of time in Tuscany, home to some of the world’s most inspired inventors, philosophers and fashionistas. Consider famous innovators like Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo, Machiavelli, Petrarch and Guccio Gucci as sources of pride and inspiration for the very people with whom I was meeting!
Admittedly, a trip to Tuscany may sound more like a passage out of Frances Mayes’ bestseller, “Under the Tuscan Sun”, but I can assure you that through intellectual discourse with our French and Italian partners, everyone has undoubtedly found inspiration in what was demonstrated. This could well be the basis for the next great “bestseller” to come out of Tuscany!
