MicroVision is developing interactive touch paired with projection so that our PicoP® scanning technology can enable virtual touchscreen and gesture capabilities in a variety of products.
While early solutions involved a stylus or other reflective tools, we are looking at a natural user interface, which means the interactivity is very similar to what we experience with smartphones or tablets today. Features of products equipped with this technology include the ability to use gestures such as swiping and virtual touch to zoom, expand or activate a link. Other movements and gestures become part of the interaction for activities like playing a video game.
We see this as the next logical step for pico projection, and expect it can open up the door to new opportunities beyond simply viewing projected content.
