Flic Laser Bar Code Scanner Coupled with Media Collector
Software is Targeted at Mass Market
BOTHELL, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–March 2, 2005–
Microvision (Nasdaq:MVIS), the leader in light scanning
technologies for displays and imaging, announced today that channel
partner Intelli Innovations is being featured on HGTV in an episode of
American Home 2005 that is running from February 27, 2005, through
March 7, 2005.
The episode, entitled, “Leather Tiles, Super Stain-Fighting
Fabric, Kid Smart Smoke Alarm,” will run five times in March and the
schedule may be found at www.HGTV.com. In the episode, Microvision’s
Flic Laser Bar Code Scanner, private labeled as the IntelliScanner, is
shown with Intelli Innovations’s Media Collector software. The
application allows consumers to catalog, manage, and share their
books, DVDs, CDs and more. The application also retrieves detailed
product information and cover artwork from the Internet just like
iTunes(R) does for your CDs.
“This segment does a great job of illustrating how bar-code
scanning is beginning its move into the mass market in a range of
web-based consumer applications,” said Greg Olson, Flic Marketing
Manager. “Simplicity and affordability make the Flic Scanner an ideal
choice for this growing market segment. The Flic Software Development
Kit and our new FlicMate Partner Program make it easy for the
development community to design software applications around the Flic
that delight customers and create new business opportunities.”
